What Is Seller Registration Number on Bill of Sale

What is the "seller registration #" on a bill of sale?

I looked at my registration sticker and there are several numbers. Which one is the one I need?

What bill of sale are you talking about?

I believe that's if the seller is a dealer.

It was a generic bill of sale for a Texas vehicle that I found online.

I also realized that I put my address on there, wish I would not have done.

Google the correction: Texas DMV web site. If you're selling, sign the title, fill out and sign form 130u, take the tags, go online and fill out the electronic form that says you sold it

Don't need no stinking bill of sale

It's too late on the bill of sale.

I'm confused about the 130 U. Isn't that for the buyer to do?

You have to sign it. If you haven't yet, the buyer may have a bit of trouble getting a title. Did you sign over the title?

And your address doesn't matter. It would be on the title anyway.

You both need to sign it.

Its the buyers responsibility to go to the local tax office and get the title swapped over.

We already did the deal.

What are the implications if I didn't sign the 130U?

He has trouble getting the title. He may show up at your house one day with the 130-u. If you're happy with the deal, sign it and go on with life.

I just realized you asked for advice here:

Don't know why you didn't take it.

Go to the web site NOW and fill out the form 1Ags told you to:

I filled that one out!

Then your responsibility is over. Again, if the buyer shows up with a 130-U, sign it.

And I wouldn't worry about your name and address being on something. If you gave him a title, he has it from that., or could find it a dozen other ways online.

Great point. Really appreciate your help.

With the 130-U and the title why would someone need another bill of sale?

I'm going to guess that whoever bought it asked for the bill of sale. Otherwise, the OP would surely have followed our advice on the other thread, right?

I dunno, I think the steps were laid out too neatly and exceeded the 120 character limit

Make sure next time it's multiple posts numbered like (1/3), (2/3), (3/3)

Someone suggested a drafting up a bill of sale.

I did, and the main reason for that is to show that the actual cash exchanged hands (or other form of payment) and then the car did not have any kind of warranties etc to cover your arse.

Yeah I think it was a good idea. However, I did not include the no warranty thing.

The "AS-IS, WHERE IS" language is the only reason I draft bills of sale. With TxDOT's forms nowadays, it's about the only reason to draft a BoS.
